Camping De Stuurmanskolk is located in Welsum, a village on the banks of the IJssel River in the municipality of Olst-Wijhe in the province of Overijssel.

The village is situated on the left bank of the IJssel and is entirely surrounded by Gelderland on the land side. The residents have always rejected a reorganization to the municipality of Epe and the province of Gelderland. Welsum has approximately 625 inhabitants (2021).
